Technical Integration I chose this video “Technology Provides Parents a Window on the Classroom by linking Home to School” because I have had a little bit of experience with this type of technology. My kid’s school use a program called Sycamore and it is something like the Blackboard program at Forest Lake Elementary school. However, there is one concern about this technology. What happens when the educator doesn’t update the student’s daily activities on a daily basis? I have experienced this first hand with my kids. The educator must be proficient in this technology in order for it to be successful. This technology is a great tool for the students, parents and the educators. It helps keep the parents involved with their children’s education. As well as, provides an opportunity for the children to hone their own computer skills. As for the educator, if used correctly, it is a great communications tool to help keep the parents informed on what is going with their children when they are at school. However this technology is only as good as the educator. It is up to the educator to keep it updated and use it to its fullest extent possible to get all the benefits that it provides. I am looking forward to using this technology when I become a teacher.
